As I said in a recent recipe post, my husband and I have been out of town the last few days, hence the lack of posts for all of you! Sadly, we had to lay his grandfather to rest. He was such a wonderful man, and he lived a very good life. Death, no matter if it’s expected or not, is never an easy battle for family and friends to overcome. We are thankful for the time we have with our loved ones, but at this point in life, we sometimes blame God, or ourselves for the passing. This brings me to a topic that has been on my mind. Pardon me for being deep, but I wanted to share some thoughts with you all.
Why are we so mean and judgmental? Why do we have to share all our opinions on social media? What happened to these outlets just being for fun, or to keep in touch with people afar? I for one, was always taught by my parents that there are certain things you just don’t share. Money, and politics are 2 of them. Funny thing is, NOW – those are some of the things people seem to talk about the most. Is it so hard to use your energy, and opinions on certain topics, and put them into good?
There is so much bad in the world, that we all seem to walk around with a chip on our shoulder, doesn’t really matter what it is. We are so quick to blame someone else who has another view on WHATEVER it is that we are targeting at that point in time, that we don’t even take the time to talk with one another and find out their reasonings behind it.
Like guns? GREAT! Does it make you a coward for owning one? NO! You know why? You are entitled to your opinions, and beliefs. Believe in planned parenthood? WONDERFUL! Should you be ridiculed for it? NO! Think we should use our time helping the homeless, and the people really striving to get back on our feet? THAT’S FANTASTIC! Don’t like having “illegal” people in our country? That’s fine too. Have you ever thought about joining a group of people just like you, or volunteering somewhere that helps teach people the importance of whatever belief you desire? Do you need to blast it all over the free world and tell people all about it? NO! Have you, YOURSELF tried to make any changes, or do something about it, to make it better?
Here is my challenge for you all – MYSELF included. Why don’t we make a change in ourselves, and STOP all the negativity? Let’s focus on making OURSELVES better, before we start trying to blame the world for all it’s mishaps. We live here, part of this blame is on us. I think Michael Jackson said it best when he said “if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself, then make a change.” Let’s be kind to one another, and stop criticizing everyone for what they believe in. Let’s just LOVE, and be loved!
