Crib Life

I did it. I finally got up the strength to move our daughter into her own room. If you ask my husband, he says things are going GREAT! Me, on the other hand, I’m still having a hard time with it, but I know this is a process, and we will get better as we go.

First of all, I’m just going to go on record to say GET A MONITOR! A VIDEO MONITOR! I don’t think I would have moved Jamie at all if we hadn’t gotten a monitor. Even though I know it was time because, well, her Rock and Play was becoming a hazard to sleep in. We found a good deal on a Summer Infant baby monitor, and bought it. I also have to take a second to say their customer service is PHENOMENAL! For some reason our device won’t let us connect to the App on the phone. I called and without any questions asked they are sending a new one! AMAZING! I didn’t even have to argue with anyone. Just called and told them what was happening. That makes this momma VERY proud!

The first night was a Friday. Mommy breakdown #1. I really had some serious anxiety about this whole crib thing. I mean, my baby is growing up. She’s moving into her own room! My husband went hunting that evening with some friends, and Jamie fell asleep rather early. I thought she might wake up again before “actually” going to sleep, but she didn’t. She ended up getting up 3 times that night. Also on Friday Jamie learned a new party trick. She started rolling over both ways. I thought this was an awesome trick, and couldn’t have come at a better time! One of the things I quickly realized was that the worst part about this whole crib situation is walking across the house to get her, nurse, and put her back in her crib. Then I have to walk back to our room and continue on with my sleeping. When your child gets  up 3 times during a night, that’s kind of tough. I was pretty tired on Saturday. But we did it again Saturday night, and she got up 3 times again. The final time, I brought her into our room for the morning nursing session. We are now on night 3- Sunday. She only woke up 1 time!! That would have been great if mommy didn’t have a cold of some sort and was up and down myself all night.

img_3688

All in all, I think we are doing a good job. I know this transition won’t be the easiest at times, but I know it’s needed. She needs to be in her own room. It’s time. I’m sure she is happier too! Really, in hindsight, maybe I shouldn’t have waited so long. Hey- there’s always next time, right?!

The ugly cry

I’m not sure if you have figured this out about me or not, but I tend to show emotion in everything I do. I have always been a very emotional, sympathetic, individual. With that comes the good, bad, and ugly. I’ve been known to cry at random commercials, when I’m happy, sad, angry, tired, hungry. You name it, I can most likely cry about it. Maybe it’s just part of being a woman. Maybe I’m a special breed. Who the hell knows. Honestly, I’m sorry Kim, but I’m pretty sure you stole the “ugly cry” from a lot of us females. You’re just famous (for reasons I will truly never understand) and the term was set.

That leads me into my post. This morning, I was doing my morning stalking   Face-booking and I came across a song by Kelly Clarkson. I believe the song is titled, Piece by Piece. Sure, it said it was raw. It said it was emotional. But it’s also American Idol, how bad can it be?!

I’m going to share this video with you, and you can decide for yourself. However, I’m also going to leave you with some viewpoints on this beautiful work.

I have a dad. My dad has been there with me, and for me, from the moment I was conceived. I can’t truly imagine what it’s like to not have a Father. However, I know people near and dear to my heart, that don’t. I also know people who didn’t for a long time, and as Kelly referred to in her song, the Father shows back up later. Again, I can’t imagine how difficult that is for these people, for any people.

This brings me back to the whole subject on our world today, and the things that are happening around us. This is a huge issue. I understand there are always circumstances to every story, and things happen that are unfortunate, or unforeseen. However, for a Father to just up and leave, or how about this, a PARENT to just up and leave. Why? I don’t have children yet, but I can promise you, when I do/we do, we will be devoted to our children. That’s what you are supposed to do. You made this life, it’s your job to raise it to the best of your abilities.

Friends, These are just my views, and my views alone. I know things can be hard at times. I know life can be hard at times. I know that you don’t, nor will you ever understand a person or situation until you walk in their shoes. I get all of those things. But I also know that having a child is a HUGE responsibility, and it seems like we hear more and more about people who decide to up and leave that responsibility. Why? Have we made it too easy to just walk away? What happened to the fight in people? How about those people who are fighting every day because they WISH they could have a child.

I hope that people will read this, listen to that beautiful song, and I truly hope it speaks to everyone. No matter if you have a family or not. I hope you get something out of it. We need more good in the world. More passion for helping, and being there for others. Let’s start that TODAY!

Have a wonderfully blessed day, friends!

I needed a walk

I’m going to be honest with you, because I don’t know any other way. I’ve been pretty lax on my exercising, and I can’t completely figure out why. Am I depressed, sick, emotional? I just can’t pin point one thing. On the flip side to that, I’ve been feeling pretty bad about myself. Isn’t this always the tricky slope we all go on from time to time? This mean cycle that just keeps repeating itself over and over until we finally get tired enough to make a stand.

Well, folks, I made a stand. I went for a walk. I’ve been running for the last couple years on and off, and I’ve fallen in and out of love with the process every time. This time, I decided that I wasn’t going to pressure myself into running again, I’m just going to listen to my body and go for a walk. While I was walking and still being chased by dogs, and enjoying the beautiful 70º+ weather, (you know, we live in Texas, so it’s beautiful here right now) I started thinking about why we continue to go on this crazy fitness cycle. Why isn’t it easier to stick to a plan, or routine?

What I learned on this walk was that I wanted to run. My body was telling me that running is what I needed. I didn’t run the whole time, but I did run some. It was great too!

IMG_1676

Here are some things that I want to share with you, that maybe will help you along the way to whatever lifestyle change, or fitness journey you are on. My list, my opinions. Feel free to create your own! Whatever helps to drive or motivate you, I think you should do it. Write it down, have a plan. Master the HELL out of that goal/plan!

  1. You are beautiful.– I know that it’s been said before, but you are. You’re beautiful. It’s taken me 32 years to really realize and be comfortable with that, but it’s true. We all are beautiful in our own special ways, and that’s what makes the world unique.
  2. You are strong. – Again, something I’ve struggled with a lot. Strong doesn’t mean you have to lift 300lbs in a back squat. Strong can mean that you fought your own battle and came out alive, and well. Whatever you are doing, whatever you are going through, you are strong for sticking with it. You are strong for fighting for what you believe in. Keep it up!
  3. DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER PEOPLE! – JUST DON’T DO IT! Believe me, I know this is tough. I know that it’s a hell of a lot easier said than done. Again, another thing I’ve battled with for a long time. Guess what?! It doesn’t make a freaking difference about what ANYONE else is doing. As the famous Dr. Seuss said: “Today you are you, that is truer than true, there’s no one alive, that is youer than you.” Believe that. Feed off of it. Use it as your own motivation. images-2
  4. Believe in yourself. Whatever is going on in your life, whatever journey or struggle you might be facing. Believe in yourself and your abilities. You got this. You can do this! God won’t give you something you can’t handle. Handle whatever it is like a boss, and keep it moving! You will feel so much better about yourself once you do.
  5. Listen to your body. When you need to walk, walk. When you need to run, run. If you have to lay on the grass for 15 minutes and catch your breath, do that too. I promise you, if you really start listening to your body, and not your mind, you’ll be surprised with what you can accomplish.
  6. Love yourself. If you love yourself, you will respect, listen and believe in yourself. Why don’t we love ourselves enough to take time out of our days for US? No matter what it is, we are doing it for ourselves. Why do we make all these excuses as to why we can’t, and just think about ourselves? It’s not selfish to do something for yourself. Especially when what you are doing is helping yourself to be a better you.
  7. Above all. HAVE FUN! Whatever you are doing, have fun with it. If it’s not fun, try something else until it is fun. You have to be able to experiment to figure out what is best for YOU, and your life. What fits your needs the best, and something you are passionate about, and enjoy. I can promise you, if you don’t like it, you won’t keep it up.

This is my list for you all. Again, this has been a hard battle for me to overcome myself. I can promise though, little by little, if you continue on, you will form a routine, you will start believing in yourself, and you will continue on your journey. You’ll be amazed with the things you are capable of. Always know, there is someone out there who believes in you!!

Case of the Monday’s

First of all – before I begin this blog post, let me say that as of 2.4.2016 I’ve issued 20 posts (this will actually be my 22) AND I’ve received 100 likes!!  THANK YOU ALL who have been reading and following my posts!!! Please keep sharing, and commenting. I LOVE hearing and reading everyone else’s posts, and comments. We all need to be supportive of each other in this community, and I honestly can’t wait to see how this progresses for me! Now – On to my story!

Last monday, which would be 2.1.2016, I was SO excited to get this new month, and endeavors started with a BANG! Well, it was a bang alright, probably not one of my best days in a long time, but it made me realize some things. Here we go!

I started off the day babysitting the adorable, rambunctious, full of life crossfit baby at the gym my husband and I go to. Routine, right?! Sure, that part of my day went well, except he was unusually grumpy – pretty sure he’s teething some more, which lead to him whining and crying, while following me around the room ALL MORNING. Until he finally fell asleep. Oh well, we made it through!IMG_1562

Now, on to my company. Conference call number 1, SUCCESS. Conference call number 2, SUCCESS! Maybe I was actually getting somewhere. I needed to make a trip to the post office, so Elvis (our dog, YES he’s named after Elvis Presley) and I jumped in the car and we were off to the post office. Only to get about 4 miles from the house before my back tire blew. UHHHH OHHHH! SERIOUSLY?! IMG_1564

So I called my husband, who THANK GOODNESS wasn’t too terribly far from me, and he came to the RESCUE! YAY! And off to the post office Discount Tire, I go! 2 hours later, I was finished, and pretty much ready for bed.

Let me tell you the positives, and the things that really put this day into perspective for me. First – this was just a bad day all around. Part of it could have been my mood, hormones, or whatever other girly things I had going on that day. Second – I let this day, for the most part, get the best of me. As a normally HAPPY and POSITIVE person, I was just being a grouch. Sure, I’m deserved those days, so is everyone, but it’s how you overcome and get through them, that make you a true winner. Third – I realized in the midst of all this stuff that was going on, how absolutely lucky, and thankful I am. I made sure to thank my husband for coming to my rescue, the people at Discount Tire were ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL with their customer service, and since I’ve gotten my tires replaced there before, what could have costed us a new tire, only cost about $15.00. SCORE!!! The conference calls were successful, which also means that my business is moving along in the right direction. I’m surrounded by family and friends who love me, and support me. What else do I need?

So see, even in the midst of all the things that were SO BAD that dreadful Monday, I was able to pull out, and remember that there is something to be thankful for after all!

Have a wonderfully, thankful day, friends!

*Here are some quotes, and a picture of Elvis, for you all. I hope it brightens your days!!

Box Jumps – What was I thinking?!

You’ve all heard of box jumps, right? Well, if you haven’t, I’ll let you in on what this is all about.

You have a box IMG_1578 the box will stand 20, 24, or 30″ tall. You jump on said box, and step off. The process continues until you die are finished with that segment of the workout. SO, my friends, I was doing these box jumps this week at our gym, and I regretfully am proud to say, I have officially been inducted into the box jump wound club. Yep, I  received my first battle wound from the jumps. As I was practicing before the workout even started on the 24″ jump, I was feeling somewhat confident in my ability, but not TOO confident. Moving along to the actual workout which consisted of bench presses, and box jumps.  What happened? THE very FIRST jump in the workout, and BAM! I got a pretty little gouge in my shin! IMG_1570 YEP! That’s my shin. I took this beautiful picture, AFTER the workout was complete. Pardon the white legs!

With that said, I’m going to leave you with the things that were going through my mind during this workout – because, I didn’t stop. Why? Because my mom didn’t raise a quitter! Thanks for that, MOM! 🙂

10. Walking up to the box for the first jump. Yes! I can do this, I can do this, I can do this. I am made of steel, nothing can stop me, I am wonder woman, I’m a believer. I’m not going to give up. I know what I’m made of! YEAHHH!

9. OH CRAP! THAT HURT! Do I stop? Do I keep going? Everyone else is going still. Don’t cause a scene, Kara, don’t cause a scene. I’m not bleeding? Why am I not bleeding? Ok wuss, You’re not bleeding, you need to keep jumping. You have 9 more times to jump this round, step to it.

8. Here we go again. We meet again box. It’s me and you. Ready? Set? JUMP! I DID IT! I cleared it. BAM! Crap my leg hurts. Just keep jumping. That’s all you can do. Prove to yourself and this box what you are made of! Oh God, my leg might fall off right here. This is it, yep, my leg is going to fall off.

7. Ok adrenaline – I’m going to need you to carry me the rest of the way.  Get up, let’s do this! Ok stop, have some water. Catch your breath for a second. Alright, maybe 20 seconds. Water break is over, get to stepping, woman! What song is this? It’s horrendous.

6. OHHHH NOOOO! I AM BLEEDING!!! AHHHHHH! I am going to die. Can someone die from box jumping? Does that REALLY happen? Maybe they will have to amputate my leg. I mean, I am bleeding. Isn’t it what that means? Oh for the love of God, I can’t lose my leg. Why am I even doing this to myself? Beauty is pain, right? THIS IS PAINFUL! I better be drop dead freaking gorgeous after this WOD.

5. I’m at the half way point now. There is no turning back. Ok, Kara, just keep jumping. The faster and harder you jump, the faster this hell workout will be over. Why does my leg hurt so bad? I mean, it’s just a dang wooden box? Can it be infected already? OH please, don’t let it be infected. Do I need a tetanus shot? Maybe I’ll go to the emergency room after this.

4. 4 more. YOU GOT THIS! 2, and 2! Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump! Oh man!! That was pretty easy. Let’s just keep going. Don’t stop. Think about finishing. Think about the end goal. think about your time cap. You are going to beat it! OH! how you will celebrate after!

3. WHY DOES MY LEG HURT SO BAD? I mean, it just plain hurts. IS THIS EVER GOING TO BE OVER?? Thank goodness I’m not wearing shorts, so no one can see my bloody, nasty, leg. And to think, Seth hates these capri pant things. I’m buying 15 more pair after this workout is over. What does he know about fashion, anyways? I love these things. They hide all your battle scars! Besides, I need a reward, don’t I?

2. When this is over, if I ever finish, I’m drinking an entire bottle of wine. I’m also eating 18lbs worth of ice-cream. I don’t care that it’s not part of my diet. I deserve it. Honestly I’m surprised I can still move my leg at this point.

1. LAST JUMP! I AM A HERO! I did it! I didn’t stop. Why was I even worried? I’m not going to faint, I didn’t die, my leg is still in tact. MAN OH MAN, What a rush! I’m so proud of me. I can’t believe I let this box get in my way. Ok, maybe I don’t need the ice-cream but you better believe, I’m drinking the wine! Guess what, I bet I’ll make sure to clear this stupid wonderful piece of exercise equipment every time I jump now!

**Guess what friends. I went back THE NEXT DAY, and jumped on that box again. Just to prove to myself, and that blasted box, that I AM THE BOSS! I’m no quitter. I keep on moving.

Please laugh, share, comment on your box jumping experiences, and ENJOY!

Pepperoni Pizza Casserole

Want another recipe? I’ve tried some different pizza casseroles in my life, and they have not been good, even in the slightest. UNTIL I tried this one. My husband would prefer me making pizza that was full of gluten, and all the other things that I can’t really tolerate, and I do, occasionally, but when I’m in the mood for pizza, without all the other nastiness, this is the one I would recommend. It’s really tasty, I think at least. Without Further ado, here it is!! Feel free to comment and share your experiences.IMG_5091

Pepperoni Pizza Cauliflower Casserole:

For the Puree:

1 med head cauliflower

2tbs half and half

1tbs butter

8 slices pepperoni

¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Paleo Flourish Magazine – A MUST READ!

What Is The Paleo Diet And Why Should You Give It A Try? I stumbled upon this diet when doing one of the many different “challenges” that I have done in the past, and decided that I wanted to continue on with this lifestyle. What Is Paleo And Why Should You Give It A Try?

This is a guest post by Louise Hendon, co-founder of Paleo Flourish Magazine, and author of The Essential Paleo Cookbook. In this article, she shares the basics of what a Paleo diet is and some of the benefits a Paleo diet could offer you.

You might be eating a Paleo diet without even knowing it.

I’m not kidding. Many of the most popular diets of the past 5-10 years have simply been variations of a Paleo diet. Sometimes they change a few things, but the basics are usually the same. For example, the recent Bone Broth diet and JJ’s Virgin diet are both very similar to Paleo when you look beneath the surface.

And even the Paleo diet itself is know by many names (caveman diet, Primal, Banting, etc.).

If you’re not already familiar, I’ll show you in this article exactly what a Paleo diet is. More importantly, though, I’ll show you WHY and HOW a Paleo diet works and why so many other diets use it as a starting point.

First of all…

What the Heck is a Paleo Diet?

One of the most common responses I get when I tell someone I eat a Paleo diet is: “Oh, do you eat…raw meat?”

Let me start by clarifying that…No, Paleo does not generally include raw meat.

Most people on a Paleo diet choose to eat a combination of meats (mostly cooked), fish and other seafood, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.

And while that might sound like a boring smattering of foods, you can combine these foods groups to make a huge selection of seriously delicious meals.

You can find a more detailed list of foods on the Paleo diet here.

Why these foods and not others?

You’re probably wondering what’s so special about the foods I mentioned?

There are two big reasons to eat those foods…

  1. First, they’re high in nutrients (like vitamins and minerals).
  2. Secondly, they cause very little inflammation and contain few toxins (for example, they’re less likely to contain compounds that could cause you digestive issues).

Generally, they’re the foods that have been eaten by humans for an extremely long time.

Notice that certain foods are not on the list because they don’t fit in with those 2 reasons. Wheat (or whole grains), for instance, is not on that list. Contrary to popular opinion, wheat does not contain many vitamins and minerals when compared to the other foods on that list. And that’s why you’ll usually see bread fortified with vitamins and minerals to make them more nutritious!

Plus wheat contains gluten, a protein whose consumption long term can cause small tears in your intestines thereby allowing all sorts of bacteria, food particles, and other stuff that shouldn’t be allowed through the intestine walls.

This is a very brief and simplified description of what gluten does to you – if you’re interested in finding out more about the impact of gluten on your health, check out these books here (1, 2).

And of course, our bodies are all slightly different so your most optimal diet might look slightly different to that of the person next to you, but the general concepts still apply.

In the end, Paleo is a diet that looks first to the past to see what has worked for humans for millions of years. But mostly, we use modern science to determine what actual effects these foods have on our bodies today.

It’s not just about food!

Paleo is generally referred to as a diet, and most people therefore think, it’s just about what you put into your mouth. However, for many people, Paleo is more of a lifestyle you adopt.

And within the Paleo lifestyle, sleep, play, de-stressing, and exercise are all highly emphasized.

Why should you give Paleo a try?

Most of what Paleo tries to do is return your body (and also your mind) to a simpler state where it doesn’t have to do battle with the copious amounts of junk you’re ingesting.

What that ends up meaning is that your body is given a chance to recover after years of abuse. Some benefits people might find on a Paleo diet include:

  • losing weight
  • regaining energy
  • healing chronic health issues
  • having improved moods
  • sleeping better

Most people start Paleo because they want to lose weight, and many do find that it helps them do just that. While there might be some deeper scientific reason for why Paleo helps people lose weight, the simplest reason is that it helps you naturally not overeat without leaving you hungry or nutrient-deficient. This then makes it possible for you to stick to Paleo long term thereby helping you not only to lose weight but also to keep it off.

Most people who stick to Paleo long term do so not purely for the weight loss factor (although of course, that helps), but because it also just makes them feel so much better. I’ve gotten emails from people in their 60s and 70s telling me they now feel like they’re in their 30s again. With that sort of positive incentive, it’s hard for most people to go back to the lifestyle they had before.

A few caveats about Paleo

Like any diet or lifestyle, there are no guarantees.

Some of our bodies are more broken than others! Personally, while it took only a few weeks for my heartburn to disappear, it took almost 5 years of eating a Paleo diet for my autoimmune condition to subside. Now, I’m completely off both heartburn and autoimmune medications!

Someone told me when I was first starting a Paleo diet that it was silly for me to expect that I would suddenly be healed of all my health and weight issues after just a few weeks of Paleo when I had spent a lifestyle eating junk, being stressed, and not exercising or sleeping enough. That statement made a lot of sense to me and helped me to remain patient, so I hope it offers you the same.

That doesn’t mean some people don’t see fast weight loss and fast health results, but that may not always be the case.

How do you start a Paleo diet?

I’ve hopefully gotten you excited about Paleo!

If you’re looking to give it a try, then it’s easy to get started.

Many people go all in – meaning they give up processed foods, wheat and other grains, legumes, processed sugars, dairy and really embrace the lifestyle. Honestly, those are the people that tend to see the best results quickly.

If you’re a bit timid, then I suggest getting your feet wet by just going Paleo for breakfast initially. Have a green smoothie, an avocado with an egg, a few slices of bacon with some fried asparagus, or maybe a Paleo coffee. I find having a Paleo breakfast really helps to keep me alert and energized in the mornings and fills me up so that I’m not hungry until lunch.

Then, once you have breakfast down, switch your dinner to Paleo and then your lunch and snacks.

Another easy option is to join our free 7-day Paleo challenge (there’s a quick start guide, menu, and daily videos to guide you through the process).

Those are some of the basics of a Paleo diet. I hope you give it a try and enjoy your journey to better health.

Workout #1

Ever heard the term, “the struggle is real?” Well, that’s been a case with me and running as of late. I LOVE to run, don’t get me wrong. But after my second half marathon, I knew I needed to take a break. I took about a month break, and ran a 5K. Was a good time, but I still felt like I needed more. So here we are, 3 months later, and I hit the streets again. Talk about feeling good. Yes, I had to stop and walk a couple times, but it was nice to have a breath of fresh air, my old 90s – 2000s jams in my ears, and just bopping to the beat of the music. I’m going to have to learn to control my speed again, but all in all, it’s nice to know that I was able to take this break, and not lose too much of my speed.

I can give credit to eating right, continuing to do crossfit – and trying to stay as active as possible while I wasn’t running. Now, do I want to get better, sure. Will I get better? Absolutely. This is only stepping stone number 1 on my life long journey. You have to know, as a runner, cross fitter, or whatever you are trying to do to stay healthy, that it’s OK to fail sometimes, AND it’s ok to stop for a little bit too. Even the best of us need a break sometimes!

So here is the workout I did yesterday.

Run 2 miles – at your pace.

24 push ups / 24 sit-ups

More to come on these, as I continue to work on my endurance and speed again. Core work is VERY important to these things, and it’s important to have TOTAL body strength, not just legs, or arms, or core. Have fun with this. Go at your pace. Enjoy the road, the scenery, the dogs chasing you, wherever you are, enjoy the ride! IMG_1539

Want a better body? Start here!

As they say, (I’m still not sure who “they” are referring to) “there’s no better time than the present.” Well, THEY are correct. OK – so it’s now 20 days past your resolution time. You’ve given in to whatever you thought you wouldn’t do. You don’t think it’s right for you. You’re starting to feel down on yourself. Well, I’m here to tell you that you can turn your pitty train around and start again. Don’t let some resolution you didn’t follow be your determining factor for success. It’s YOUR journey, and it’s up to YOU to write the book. Not anyone else. WELL, I found this Post Holiday Detox tips, and I wanted to share them with you. (Thank you http://www.cellajane.com)

It’s important to know that you need to start small. Little by little. Again, as THEY say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Man, I’m full of all these sayings, aren’t I?! 🙂

The biggest advice I will give on these, is that you should again start slow. Let’s start with water 1 week (try and get at least 64oz of water, if not more), then incorporate more veggies the next. Week 3, let’s really start honing in on cutting the processed foods – take a look via The Essential Paleo Cookbook (Second Edition)   or via Free Paleo Meal Plan.  Last, and certainly not least, cut out the booze. Yeah, I know, as you’ve heard me say before, I LOVE WINE! But I promise, that if you do this for at least 21 days (stretch goal of 30) you will notice an extreme difference, and you will be AMAZED! I’m going to also add in there activity. You want to be active throughout this journey. Start with walking, maybe a mile, or 20 minutes a day. Increase that over the course of a month. This will also help shed that weight, AND it will boost your mood, metabolism, and other fantastic things!

As always, stay positive, and stay consistent. Consistency is key, and DON’T GIVE UP!! You can do it, I believe in you!

Everyone needs inspiration

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, needs a little motivation in their lives. We all need to be inspired by someone, something, or ourselves. That’s what keeps us going. It’s how we get better. Whether we are striving to compete, looking to be healthy, or just tying to be a better version of ourselves – there is something in us. It’s our drive. I’ve always been a big fan of motivational type quotes, thanks for that, MOM! “it’s all about attitude” and “balance” were 2 of her favorites, as she would use them on me almost daily when I was a snot nosed teenager.

Well, I’ve decided to share with you some of my favorites, and hope that they will help you in whatever journey you are going for. Before I go to workout, run, or do any kind of activity that I’m deciding on doing, I usually stop, and read some of these beforehand. It’s just helpful, and it’s nice to know that there are other people who have been there.

Again – I hope you enjoy these, and I hope that they will help you along the path you are on.

As always, feel free to comment, share, like – you know, get the word out. You never know who YOU might be motivating!
